Past Events

Organization of the event was led by IHA-India President – Dr. Rakesh Kumar. He was also the convenor and host for the program. Mr. Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India, Chicago graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave the opening remarks which motivated and filled all the participants and viewers with pride. He also read out a message from Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which praised all the events being held to celebrate the World Hindi Day. This message also emphasized the importance of our national language in defining our culture and identity. Mr. Somnath Ghosh also announced that IHA-Indiana would be hosting the annual International Hindi Association’s annual conference in Indianapolis on July 28-30^th, 2023. Mr. Somnath Ghosh accepted our invitation to the event as a Chief Guest.

Dr. Rakesh introduced and welcomed each poet with individualized tailored beautiful couplets which helped to keep the flow of the program well and, also, kept the viewers engaged. Most of the audience stayed from start to finish – peak audience of nearly 100 was reached. The program has also garnered 500 views on Facebook thus far (it has also been posted on YouTube).

All the poets are USA based and they all read out 2-3 poems each. The names of the participants are given in the event poster above. All the poets are leaders in their professional careers and write poetry as a hobby. Listening to their poems, it seems that they are no less than professional and well-established poets. The themes covered in the poems covered a wide range of topics – including patriotism, life’s journey, corona, husband wife relations, house to home, social media, expression of love etc. The beauty of Hindi and the richness of our Indian culture and heritage was the common theme in all the poems. All the poems pulled on the heart strings and made us emotional. Dr. Sweta Sinha filled us with pride and patriotism about India and our culture. Sanjeev Srivastava ji described beautifully life’s journey and acts and behaviors to satisfy “life”. Dr. Nisha Pandya eulogized Hindi and then brought humor with her “hasya-kavita” on Corona and based on the tune of “Kajra Mohabbat Wala”! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed laughing at the misery we went through. Priya Bhardwaj ji entertained us with the perennially funny topic of husband-wife relations. Poor husband had to do with karele ke pakode for calling his wife a baigan. Pooja Srivastava ji read two beautiful poems – one on how to make a house a home and second on describing human emotions through weather and seasons. Narendra Singh ji read ghazals and poetry on effect and perils of social media and online communications and compared it to bygone era when “ghadi kisi kisi ke paas thi par waqt sabke paas tha”. Raghvendra Bhadouriya ji presented two poems on “Shringaar Ras”. First ‘Chand Se Guzarish’ which was from the “Saajan” to his ‘Sajni’ and then “Saajan Ke Rang” which was from Sajni to Saajan. “Chand Se Guzarish” was penned by Raghvendra ji for his wife for their 25^th wedding anniversary and he informed us that he received a lot of brownie points for that which he is still utilizing during “moments” of difficulty.

All in all, a highly successful event which received great feedback from the viewers during and after the program. IHA-Indiana would like to thank the Consul General of India, Chicago, all the participants and all the viewers.

कार्यक्रम के आयोजन का नेतृत्व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी समिति-इंडियाना शाखा के अध्यक्ष डॉ. राकेश कुमार ने किया। वे कार्यक्रम के संयोजक और मेजबान भी थे। श्री सोमनाथ घोष, भारत के महावाणिज्यदूत, शिकागो ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में इस अवसर की शोभा बढ़ाई और उद्घाटन भाषण दिया जिसने सभी प्रतिभागियों और दर्शकों को प्रेरित किया और उन्हें गर्व से भर दिया। उन्होंने माननीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी का एक संदेश भी पढ़ा, जिसमें ‘विश्व हिंदी दिवस’ मनाने के लिए आयोजित होने वाले सभी कार्यक्रमों की प्रशंसा की गई थी। इस संदेश ने हमारी संस्कृति और पहचान को परिभाषित करने में हमारी राष्ट्रभाषा के महत्व पर भी जोर दिया। श्री सोमनाथ घोष ने यह भी घोषणा की कि अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी समिति-इंडियाना शाखा 28-30 जुलाई, 2023 को इंडियानापोलिस में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी समिति के द्विवाषिक अधिवेशन की मेजबानी करेगा। श्री सोमनाथ घोष ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में इस कार्यक्रम में हमारे निमंत्रण को स्वीकार किया है।

डॉ राकेश कुमार ने प्रत्येक कवि का व्यक्तिगत रूप से सुंदर दोहों के साथ परिचय और स्वागत किया, जिसने कार्यक्रम के प्रवाह को अच्छी तरह से बनाए रखने में मदद की और दर्शकों को भी बाँधे रखा। शुरू से अंत तक अधिकांश दर्शक रुके रहे– दर्शकों की लगभग 100 थी। कार्यक्रम को अब तक फेसबुक पर 500 बार देखा है (इसे यूट्यूब पर भी पोस्ट किया गया है)।

सभी कवि अमेरिका के ही थे, सभी ने 2-3 कविताएँ पढ़ी। प्रतिभागियों के नाम ऊपर इवेंट पोस्टर में दिए गए हैं। सभी कवि अपने पेशेवर करियर में अग्रणी हैं और शौक के तौर पर कविता लिखते हैं। उनकी कविताओं को सुनकर लगता है कि वे पेशेवर और सुस्थापित कवियों से कम नहीं हैं। कविताओं में शामिल विषयों में देशभक्ति, जीवन यात्रा, कोरोना, पति-पत्नी के संबंध, घर-घर, सोशल मीडिया, प्रेम की अभिव्यक्ति आदि विषयों की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला शामिल है। हिंदी की सुंदरता और हमारी भारतीय संस्कृति और विरासत की समृद्धि सभी कविताओं में सामान्य विषय था। सारी कविताएँ दिल के तार खींच कर हमें भावुक कर गईं। डॉ. श्वेता सिन्हा ने हमें भारत और हमारी संस्कृति के बारे में गर्व और देशभक्ति से भर दिया। संजीव श्रीवास्तव जी ने “जीवन” को संतुष्ट करने के लिए जीवन की यात्रा और कार्यों और व्यवहारों का सुंदर वर्णन किया। डॉ. निशा पंड्या ने हिंदी का गुणगान किया और फिर कोरोना पर अपनी “हास्य-कविता” से हास्य और “कजरा मोहब्बत वाला” की धुन पर आधारित! हम जिस दुख से गुजरे थे, उस पर सभी ने हँसने का भरपूर आनंद लिया। प्रिया भारद्वाज जी ने पति-पत्नी के संबंधों के सदाबहार मज़ेदार विषय से हमारा मनोरंजन किया। बेचारे पति को अपनी पत्नी को बैगन कहने के लिए करेले के पकौड़े खाकर, अपने आप को संतुष्ट करना पड़ा। पूजा श्रीवास्तव जी ने दो सुंदर कविताएँ पढ़ीं – ‘एक घर को घर कैसे बनाया जाए’ और ‘दूसरी मौसम’ और मौसम के माध्यम से मानवीय भावनाओं का वर्णन। नरेंद्र सिंह जी ने सोशल मीडिया और ऑनलाइन संचार के प्रभाव और खतरों पर गजलें और कविताएं पढ़ीं और इसकी तुलना बीते युग से की जब “घड़ी किसी-किसी के पास थी पर वक्त सबके पास था” राघवेंद्र भदौरिया जी ने “श्रृंगार रस” पर दो कविताएँ प्रस्तुत कीं। पहले ‘चाँद से गुजारिश’ जो “साजन” से उसकी ‘सजनी’ तक थी और फिर “साजन के रंग” जो सजनी से साजन तक थी। “चाँद से गुजारिश” को राघवेंद्र जी ने अपनी पत्नी के लिए उनकी 25वीं शादी की सालगिरह पर लिखा था और उन्होंने हमें बताया कि उन्हें इसके लिए बहुत सारे ब्राउनी पॉइंट मिले हैं, जिनका उपयोग वह अभी भी कठिनाई के “क्षणों” के दौरान कर रहे हैं।

कुल मिलाकर, एक बेहद सफल आयोजन जिसे कार्यक्रम के दौरान और बाद में दर्शकों से बहुत अच्छी प्रतिक्रिया मिली। अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हिंदी समिति-इंडियाना शाखा ने भारत के महावाणिज्यदूत, शिकागो, सभी प्रतिभागियों और सभी दर्शकों को धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया।
